About Rebeca
Rebeca Adam graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2022 with a BS in Environmental Studies. She is currently a graduate student at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, where she will earn her MS in June 2026.
She began her environmental career in 2018 as a Sustainability Assistant for the Alaska Regional Forest Service. In 2021, Rebeca joined AmeriCorps in Alaska as a Forest Service Resource Assistant. Her project identified Partnership needs at the district and regional levels, leading to the Partnership Program receiving its own directorate within the Alaska Region.
Today, she is an Environmental Justice Research Assistant for Professor Jayajit Chakraborty, focusing on border-related social and climate challenges. Rebeca also serves as the Data Manager for her master's group project, developing a regional restoration plan for California's Central San Joaquin Valley. Additionally, she collaborates with soil scientists to develop a vermicompost product for the Terrace Foundation Farm. In her free time, she volunteers with the Xerces Society and takes part in Audubon Society activities.
